"I've never been someone to come up with musical ideas from scratch. Music always comes to me off of an outside spark. A sound, a thought, a person. This suite is inspired by exactly that. Be it a passage from Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story. Or one of many really smart thoughts from my late grandfather's brilliant mind. Or just a friend's funny quip. It all somehow found a way into these nine pieces of chamber music. Dance away to dreamy melodies, or just dream of dancing while waiting in line for a cup of coffee. Either way, I hope you enjoy these Rêveries Dansantes."

On „Rêveries Dansantes“, the sound of a rather traditional formation in the classical string quartet, joins forces with the improvisational unpredictability of the jazz-saxophone and -double bass.
In the nine part-suite, the exciting rhythms of jazz intertwine with the rich harmonies of classical music and the dancing melodies of folk music. A frolicking set of music, full of melancholy. Moving, thoughtful and sensitive. Rêveries Dansantes!

Niculin Janett New York, New York

Born into a family of musicians, Niculin Janett started his musical education at the age of five. His studies in Zurich and New York connected him with the saxophonists Rich Perry and Miguel Zenon.
A wanted young voice on the saxophone in Switzerland, Niculin has performed with the Jazz Orchestras of Zurich, Lucerne, Berne and is touring with many different formations in Switzerland and Germany. ... more
